“From Prussia to Europe” exhibition

Schinkel Platz in Berlin is probably the most beautiful place to build at the present time. It is located in the heart of the capital, close to the imposing Unter den Linden boulevard, opposite the Berlin Cathedral and beside the River Spree. Frankonia is now redeveloping this prime piece of property in the heart of Berlin.

Schinkelplatz is named after the great Prussian city planner and architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel. For this reason alone, the redesign of the square is a sensitive undertaking. Frankonia therefore invited the most renowned architects in Europe to compete. The competition results will be on show to interested Berliners in the exhibition “From Prussia to Europe” from 24 June - 5 July 2014 in the Schinkelschen Bauakademie (School of Architecture), open daily from 12-8 pm. Because, even though only one of each of the designs can be realized, they all deserve to be seen.
