Listed buildings as a business model – Uwe Schmitz in an interview with the FAZ newspaper
Preservation is not a dirty word for private property owners, said Uwe Schmitz in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper. In his experience, one can certainly negotiate with preservationists. Usually they are prepared to take a commercially sensible path. Frankonia Eurobau is currently developing the former district court in Düsseldorf as part of the new Andreas Quartier development. The listed building will offer new premium apartments in a historic setting to Düsseldorf residents. Further north, in the popular district of Harvestehude in Hamburg, Frankonia Eurobau are working on the revitalisation of Sophienpalais, the former commandant headquarters in Sophienterrassen. Designer, Karl Lagerfeld has contributed his ideas to the project and after completion next year residents and visitors will be greeted by his creations.
