Shell of Andreas Quartier completed
Grosser Burstah, a FRANKONIA development in Hamburg’s Nikolai Quarter, is “unveiled” as the scaffolding needed for the work on the facade comes down. A total of 11,000 natural stone tiles now adorn the facade of the new development, which is located right next to Hamburg City Hall. The home furnishings house Habitat will be opening its new store there in the coming weeks. Funke Media Group, publishers of the Hamburger Abendblatt daily newspaper amongst other titles, will also be moving into office space in the complex next spring.
FRANKONIA’s Grosser Burstah is one of the flagship projects of the “BID (Business Improvement District) Nikolai-Quartier”, an initiative of the Hamburger Behörde für Stadtentwicklung und Umwelt (Hamburg Authority for Urban Development and Environment). At the beginning of the 20th century Grosser Burstah was considered to be one of the most exclusive shopping streets in the Hanseatic City of Hamburg. Thanks to this prime location and FRANKONIA’s high standard of building on the project, the property was sold to a Swedish pension fund several weeks ago.
