Capital magazine’s real estate compass crowns Harvestehude the “chicest district” in Germany
Capital magazine’s real estate compass analyses the German housing markets annually. This year the editors have paid special tribute to the Hamburg district of Harvestehude calling it “the chicest inner city district”. In addition they said that this popular district is a “unique” opportunity for private property owners as well as professional investors.
The appeal of the district with Art Nouveau villas and modern luxury apartments is not declining. On the contrary, real estate in Harvestehude is in great demand. As proof of this, the article mentions the fact that 60 percent of the Alster villas and 65 percent of the apartments in Sophienpalais have already been sold in FRANKONIA Eurobau’s Sophienterrassen development.
There is no end in sight to this enthusiasm for Hamburg. A vacant home in any of the city’s popular neighbourhoods is likely to stay unheard of for some time to come. The Senate expects the population of the city to rise to two million inhabitants in the medium term, an increase of ten percent compared to today. In 2014 alone, 13,000 new inhabitants were drawn to the Hanseatic city.
